Over the years, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve seen guys whose almost entire gym routine consists of endless sets of biceps and triceps exercises.

If you really want to build some muscle, then you need to train more than just your arms, which after all are quite small muscle groups.

Training the big muscle groups of the legs, hips and back will do far more to change your physique than just direct arm training (see https://neilelbournefnc.wordpress.com/…/why-you-should-mak…/). The more muscle you stimulate through training, the more likely you are to build muscle.

If nearly all you train are arms, then having big arms on an otherwise puny upper body isn’t that great a look. These types of guys often change very little though.

Of course, I’m not saying you should never do direct arm training, but they should be seen more as accessory exercises to the bigger upper body compound exercises like presses, rows, pull-ups, etc.

After all these exercises also use your biceps, triceps and forearms. That way you not only stimulate the muscles in your arms, but also those bigger torso muscles too.

Don’t waste your time in the gym, develop a more rounded programme that works all the muscle groups of your body. Eat well, train hard and you may well see some real progress.
